What is happening to our Tigers? They went into New York with a decent lead in the division and left with little breathing room. Those games were all close, but Detroit should have been able to win them. I really felt sorry for the starting pitchers because they pitched very well. It too bad that some of our relievers can’t do as well. I do know that every time they put Rodney in to pitch, I groan. I don’t understand why we still have him on the team. I am sure there are better closers then him.
Our hitting is not the greatest either. One night we get all kinds of hits and the next nothing. In Tuesday’s game we get a grand slam and several other runs only to let Seattle come back little by little and get too close for comfort.
Last night Delarraga was wonderful. I realize he is young and Leland doesn’t want to strain his arm, but it is also important to win the game. He was doing just fine and then Seay come in and the game now belongs to Seattle. Our good pitchers are not going to stay on a team that can’t get them runs or don’t have the back-up pitching needed to win the games.
With Chicago winning last night we are only one game ahead. We play the White Sox this weekend and they are must wins if we want to stay on top of the division. Come on Tigers lets play some good games and win, win, win.
