Detroit Tigers

The Tigers are still in first place but they haven’t been doing very well lately.  Their past road trip diminished their lead over both Chicago and Minnesota.  Their hitting has been dismal and Rodney may have a perfect save record but I groan every time he comes in to pitch.  The game on Monday night should have been a win, but Rodney lost it for us again.  Tuesday night was better, but we had more of a lead for him to lose.  Hopefully we can win the rubber game in this series and then win over Cleveland. 

The final voting for Inge on the All-Star team ends on Thursday.  Make sure you vote for him at Tigers.com so he can play in the game.  He is running really close in the votes and needs yours.  He is a good player and deserves to be on the All-Star team.  You can vote as many times as you wish until 4:00 PM on Thursday. 

Over the next few months I hope the team will improve and make it all the way.  It has been far too long since they have won the series.  We need our hitters to start doing much better.  A few more runs per game would be great.  We are making far too many errors and need to work on being more defensive.  Pitching is good then bad then good and not very consistent.  We need a lot of work but they can do it.
