National Health Care

The need for Health Care Insurance is something we can all agree that we need.  The methods of obtaining it are where the problems begin.  Many people already have and like the health care they have and don’t want any changes.  Other people either have inadequate health insurance or none at all.  Health care needs to change, but not to a national health care plan.

This country was built on the ideals of freedom and capitalism not socialism.  The idea that the government owes you is sad.  It takes away your self esteem limits your abilities to ready do what you are capable of doing.

I have met a lot of people that live in Canada and have asked them about their health care system. The stories are not pretty.  They have to wait months and months to get an x-ray and even longer for an MRI.  Not enough doctors to see you so you wait months for an appointment.  If you have cancer, heart problems or other serious problems, you may or may not get treatment.  That’s why they live in the United States for six months every year.  Canada pays for their care but they come here to get it faster and better.  I don’t want to be told that I don’t deserve to live.  That is between God and me, not a government or an insurance company.

We need changes, but not the kind of changes that are being put forth.  They won’t even be able to cover all the un-insured under this plan.  We need the open market to adjust rates.  If we eliminate all the law-suits for frivolous incidents the doctors wouldn’t have to pay large premiums for mal-practice,  and the insurance companies could use more of their funds to pay for medical care not judgments.
