Types of Political Books

There are many types of political books some of these include classic political books, humorous political books, and fictional political books. The two titles that come to mind when talking about classic fictional political books are “Animal Farm” and “1984.” Both of these books were written by George Orwell and have an underlying story of paranoia and corruption. These two books in particular have been used in many English classes, as well as many literature and political science classes.

When talking about political humor there are many books out on the market and have been published in the past. One of the most popular out right now is “I Am America (And So Can You!)." This book was written by Stephen Colbert, was published in 2007 and has material on many different controversial political topics. There is also a great book called “Goodnight Bush: An Unauthorized Parody,” which is a parody of the children’s book “Goodnight Moon.”

Now when talking about classic political books there are many to choose from. Two popular titles by Thomas Paine were “Age of Reason.” and “The American Crisis.” Thomas was an outspoken and eloquent writer of his time. If you are looking for a classic political book that is a little more contemporary you can read The Errors of Socialism, which was written by Friedrich A. Hayek in 1988. No matter what type of political book you decide to read, you are very likely to learn a lot about history, politics and the authors that penned the books.
