Many famous ships have been lost at sea over hundred’s of years. This website http://www.spanishgolds.com/blog/2009/05/09/famous-ships-lost-at-sea.html gives you insight into four of those ships. Read their article to learn more about the Titanic, RMS Lusitania, the Cyclops and the Andrea Doria. The ship that I remember is the Edmund Fitzgerald. It sank on November 10, 1975 in Lake Superior. There were 29 men on board and they were all lost in a terrible storm about 17 miles from the mouth of White Fish Bay. The captain said he was having trouble and that the ship was taking on water. The ship was found in 530 feet of water in two pieces with debris in between the pieces.
It was determined that the hatch covers were damaged in the storm allowing water inside. However, this was only one of the determinations made, so was this the real reason?
