Conservative View of the Iraq Conflict

The conservatives view Iraq as a war that can be won.  Unlike Vietnam, we have learned that we need to work with the people of Iraq and help them to rebuild.  Just using military action will not do the trick.  Ollie North was involved in the Vietnam War and recognizes what it means to lose.  Our honorable men came home only to be spit on and told they were baby killers.  Thankfully the service men and women that are servicing today are treated with respect and honor.  When this article was written the war was going better and much of the daily violence has decreased.

This does not stop the liberal’s comments about losing the war and taking many of our troops out by 2010.  President Obama’s pre-election prediction that we were losing the war was considered irresponsible and sent a degrading message to our troops.  President Obama has decided to keep Robert Gates in the position of Secretary of Defense.  The conservatives feel this was a good idea and applaud the decision.  This website http://www.ichatit.com/2008/12/12/conservative-view-of-the-iraq-conflict.html gives more information about the conservative view on the Iraq War.
