Changing Your Hard Drive

Better performance from our computers is important to the majority of users.  Your computer may be running slow if you don’t have enough RAM.  Before you do anything to your computer you should turn it off and put on gloves to eliminate any static electricity.  This website,http://www.eastvalleycomputerrepair.com/2009/04/19/changing-your-hard-drive.html   informs you in great detail what and why it is important that static electricity is non-existent.

The article explains what you need to do to get the cover off, what cables to disconnect and what to look for once you are inside. Setting the jumpers from the new drive to the old drive is stressed.  At this point you can insert the drive making sure that the pins, jumpers and connectors are facing out.  Screw down the hard drive and put the cover back together.

New software will be required to finish the process.  This was a good article and deserves a look if you are planning to replace you hard drive.
